{Our 2013 Clematis lanuginosa 'Candida'}

Our 2013 Clematis lanuginosa 'Candida', the largest Clematis variety, (availability you find below post) did not yield many blooms for 2013. Below you can find more glorious blooms from earlier years. But let's have a look at this exotic beauty:
Gorgeous and HUGE flowers as usual. They are incredible.
That was it; 3 blooms on May 11 of 2013!
Hard to capture the all white blooms on camera...
The center bloom...
The bottom one where some critter has been eating away at its petal...
We used to have this Clematis lanuginosa 'Candida' up against a trellis under the balcony.
This is 7 years ago and now you can actually see their HUGE size!
2006 showed some very HAPPY blooms.
Gardener Pieter beaming with pride in 1996 when we had one as a perfect vine up against our front porch on the corner of the house. NEVER happened again and we actually lost this one... A very tiny new plant came up that Pieter babied inside the green house, in a pot before planting it next to the tree where it resides now.
Me standing proudly next to them in 1996...
For more photos of this huge beauty see the link below this post.
But we still have these photos as living memory!
Does any of you have this type of Clematis?

Oh, your Clematis is really elegant♡♡♡ There must be a good blooming year and not. I loved to see your husband "beaming with pride" in in 1996.

PS> so sorry my confusion leaving comment your last year's post last night. When I went to your site from the comment for me, I was led to that post and didn't realized the date(^^;) Whew, my carelessness never end, my dear friend.

Sending you lots of love and hugs from Japan, xoxo Miyako*

Sure there are good and bad years for blooming more or less... Depending on the weather conditions and how the winter has been etc.
Like humans, a plant is not all the time in 'optima forma' as we call it.
I love that photo very much where husband Pieter indeed beams with pride! And rightly so.
Thanks for your sweet comment that you left on the previous Clematis post. Yes, they are our 'green children'...
Hugs from Georgia to the rising sun,

Guess with the huge trees around your property there will be too much shade. Even ours has kind of perished and showed only 3 blooms and by far not as full as last year. You find last year's in link below post. Will have to move it to a better spot.

The white clematis makes such a pretty show in your garden and the photos of you and Pieter and the blooms are lovely.

      Liefs,
      Mariette

Your white clematis is beautiful. I just love seeing the photos of you and Pieter with them in more abundant years.
I wish I could grow them. They are one of my few unsuccesses with plants. But them up until a few years ago I couldn't grow roses either.
We are having a good year for mountain laurel....last year was so sparse the festival was cancelled.
Enjoy any good weather that comes your way....*s*

    1. Dearest Suzi,
Thanks for liking it too. Ah, mountain laurel we have tried here too but of course lost it. Climatic influences are so tricky with all plants, shrubs and trees. We have to enjoy whatever grows and blooms in abundance once in a while! We got some sunshine today, a heave shower last night.

Glad you loved the guest bathroom and this Clematis. It is exotic looking but it must thrive even better in more temperate zones to the north. We're at the latitude of Tunesia if you compare.
